- Defending the Right to Keep and Bear Arms -

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Amendment II, Unites States Constitution

The single amendment to the Constitution is so important that it is prefaced with a statement of why it is so crucial.  It declares the explicit, individual right of the people to use whatever armaments are necessary to defend their freedom.  It is the one amendment which enumerates the power of the people to enforce the rest of the Constitution.

The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.

Section 1, Article 21, Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

I will introduce legislation to repeal any firearm law which does not specifically pertain to the criminal misuse of firearms; to enact "Vermont style" concealed carry which presumes your right to carry until and unless you are prohibited to by a serious criminal conviction or court order; and to terminate and erase the state police handgun registry.

The only legitimate purpose of a background check when purchasing a firearm is to assure the seller that the buyer is not a wanted or convicted criminal.  I will work to create a new anonymous criminal records check which will not require the make, model or serial number of the firearm to be reported.  It will operate similar to the criminal records check that any policeman may run on you when, for example, you get pulled over for speeding.  It will be available to the general public, so that other businesses may utilize the features; for example, a car dealer would benefit from knowing that the person about to test drive a new car is not a wanted or convicted car thief.

PERFECT GUN CONTROL MEANS PUTTING THREE BULLETS THROUGH THE SAME HOLE AT 100 YARDS.
