I've been working constantly ever since my first job washing dishes
after school while a junior at ELCO. During college I worked as
the computer facilitation director and chief engineer of the
Elizabethtown College radio station. While at the Stevens
Institute, I worked in the computer center as a systems programmer, on
the cutting edge of programming language compiler construction.
I've also worked as a part time stagehand and carpenter for the
IATSE, a part time musician; I've driven a heating oil delivery truck,
serviced oil heating
equipment, designed and supervised installation of solar heating
systems, and taught an adult education class in Solar Energy and
Conservation.
Heritage:
My mothers' side of the family is from the local Pennsylvania Dutch
community, going back several generations. My fathers' parents
immigrated from Czechoslovakia in the early 1900's. They are two
of the finest people I have ever known, and I am proud to be their
son. I am a lifetime resident of Lebanon County.
Hobbies and Interests:
Music has always been a large part of my life. From piano at
age 6, trumpet in high school, through the development of electronic
music synthesizers, I have been creating music and occasionally annoying
the neighbors.
I also enjoy skiing and hiking, hunting and
shooting. I've been an aviation enthusiast for many years,
building and flying models in my youth. I earned my Private Pilot License on December 17, 2002, on the 99th
anniversary of the Wright Brothers historic first flight.
I am a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots' Association, and the Experimental Aircraft Association.
As a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, and of Article 1
Section 21 of the Pennsylvania Constitution, I am a member of the
National Rifle Association, Second Amendment Foundation, Jews for the
Preservation of Firearm Ownership, Citizens Committee for the Right to
Keep and Bear Arms, Gun Owners of America, and the Myerstown Rod and
Gun Club.
I am also a member of the Richland American Legion and Myerstown VFW.
